Cultural care
Knowledge is presented with respect for community context, traditional ownership, and cultural sensitivity.
About the institution
Kachinpedia preserves and shares history, language, faith, traditions, stories, images, and practical knowledge in one searchable home.
Our mission
Kachinpedia began with a practical need: important Kachin knowledge is scattered across books, families, churches, photographs, oral histories, and personal collections. Much of it is difficult for younger generations and people living far from home to discover.
The project brings those materials into a calm, durable digital archive while keeping community participation at its centre. It is educational, non-profit in purpose, and intended to remain open to learners.
Editorial principles
Knowledge is presented with respect for community context, traditional ownership, and cultural sensitivity.
The archive is designed to be readable and useful across generations, devices, and levels of familiarity.
Kachinpedia grows through contributors, writers, families, and knowledge holders sharing what they can.
Sources, corrections, privacy, and secure access are treated as part of preserving knowledge well.
